Stay connected. Stay reassured.
"Safe at Home” is a voice-activated wellness check skill on Alexa that helps caregivers stay informed about their loved ones.
The “Safe at Home” Alexa skill is designed to support wellness checks for individuals at home, offering peace of mind for caregivers, family members, and loved ones. This voice-based tool creates a simple and effective way to monitor well-being through scheduled or on-demand interactions via Alexa-enabled devices.
Once activated, the Alexa device will ask the user:
“Are you feeling okay? Please respond with yes or no.”
Based on the response, the skill performs the following actions:
· If the user responds “Yes”: A notification is sent to the Alexa app stating: ✅ “Good news: The user has confirmed they are okay.”
· If the user responds “No”: A high-priority notification is sent to the Alexa app: 🚨 “Urgent Alert The user has indicated they are NOT okay.”
· If there is no response (silence): Alexa sends a missed alert notification: ⚠️ “User did not respond – triggering alert.”
There are two ways to activate the “Safe at Home” skill:
1. Automatically using a Routine: You can schedule Alexa to run this skill at a specific time daily or on selected days. This ensures regular wellness check-ins without requiring manual activation.
2. Manually using a Voice Command: The user can say, “Alexa, open Safe at Home” to start the check-in process at any time.
